Walking city tour
As the largest city in Bolivia, La Paz has much more to see than could ever be achieved in one day
Our half day walking tour is the perfect opportunity for travelers to experience the lively nature of La Paz by foot taking in the sights, sounds and people that bustle through this impressive Bolivian city.
Starting our tour walking through quaint streets, we are going to take the traditional bus to El Tejar where you can taste delicious kinds of fruits comes from los Yungas. As we stroll through the produce markets, take in the colors and smells of the indigenous stalls, accompanied by the warm people of the country. Coming into the cementery and having a little explanation of, we are going to continue to the interesting and culturally important Witches' Market. Snap pictures of the many lama fetuses hanging in the stalls along with the many totems, herbs and spices. Pay close attention to your guide as he explains the indigenous practices that involve the plethora of items in the market place.
We'll continue down the street to the San Francisco Church; considered one of the best examples of Baroque architecture in La Paz. Stand in the middle of the square, imagine what the city may have been like centuries ago. Continuing on through the historical 'Plaza Murillo', where we head towards the well preserved 'Jaen' Street – one of the most popular tourist attractions in La Paz - where time seems as though it froze during the colonial era. This is also where you will visit the Museums then we are going to get the Cable Red one after having an spectacular view from La Paz City after we will make our way back up the hill, ending the tour at the hotel
On this two and half hour walking tour, we wander the colonial and traditional streets of the Western and Eastern sides of La Paz accompanied by a local, bilingual (Spanish – English) tour guide, happily answering any question you may have.
